Navigating Megatrends that Impact Global Business
Annual AGILE conversation series to explore such issues as cybersecurity and deglobalization

BALTIMORE, MD - A four-part series about megatrends and geopolitical issues that impact the global business will kick off on April 19th with a presentation and conversation led by Bruce McIndoe, who is a recognized leader in risk management, travel industries, and intelligence.

The series, called AGILE, will be hosted by the World Trade Center Institute (WTCI), a Baltimore-based nonprofit organization focused on empowering globally-minded business leaders from the Mid-Atlantic with ideas and connections to drive growth and global good.

The first session will cover such issues as the acceleration of robotics; the aging of the G20; climate change as an existential threat to the environment, economy and society; the need for a new cybersecurity architecture; and the alignment of “Team China” and “Team West” in a new bipolar world order.

McIndoe will be joined by Compass Data Centers Chief Innovation Officer Nancy Novak and Jhpiego President and CEO Leslie Mancuso, who will talk about the innovative approaches their businesses are using to minimize risks and be resilient strategically.

At the remaining sessions in the AGILE series, speakers will dive deeper into these megatrends. The future of work and the workforce, for example, will be the topic of the May 24th AGILE session. The final two sessions, to be scheduled for this fall, will be about cybersecurity, as well as climate change and sustainability.

All sessions will be at the historic Parkway Theater in Baltimore, MD, starting at 3 p.m. They will include a two-hour presentation and conversation, followed by a networking reception. The events also will be live-streamed. Tickets can be purchased here.

WTCI started AGILE in 2017. Artificial intelligence and water scarcity are among the myriad issues that global executives have discussed. Speakers in the past have been from such entities as Under Armour, Johns Hopkins, Save the Children, McCormick & Co., and Honest Tea.

The visionary sponsor for this year’s AGILE series is Ruppert International. Other sponsors include RSM, Stanley Black & Decker, McIndoe Risk Advisory, Citybizlist, TEDCO, Parkway Theatre, and Mindgrub.
