The World Trade Center Institute designs and delivers a variety of programs for people overseas and in the United States who want to learn more about global business and other cultures. Our main exchange program is done in coordination with the U.S. State's Department's International Visitor Leadership Program. But we also offer the three fee-for-service opportunities described below.
These can be for a few hours or a few weeks. They can include opportunities to improve business acumen and professional development skills and to learn about other cultures.
Every year, we create two daylong in-person and virtual professional development events, held in the spring and fall, for approximately 20 undergraduate honors students from the university who are studying global business. These include embassy visits and meetings with the Maryland Department of Commerce.
In partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development, we design and deliver Maryland-based experiences for people from European and Eurasian countries. Typically, they are for three weeks and include a home stay, professional development training and meetings with sector experts.
