Jamal is a Maryland native, born and raised in Prince George’s County. Growing up in a predominantly African American community, he developed a firm grasp of his own culture and sought to learn the importance of exploring and embracing other cultures. During his time at Towson, Jamal involved himself in numerous multicultural organizations, including the Latin American Student Organization, Filipino Cultural Association at Towson, and Students Helping Honduras. Jamal was also inducted as a brother of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional co-ed business fraternity. In his senior year at Towson, Jamal served as Chief of Staff of the Student Government Association, studied abroad in Guatemala and was also crowned Homecoming King of Towson University. Jamal’s eagerness to extend his breadth of cultural knowledge has given him the skills and cultural empathy needed to successfully fulfill his role within the Professional Exchanges department at WTCI. Jamal is a Certified Personal Trainer and enjoys working out and coaching others towards their fitness goals in his free time.
