BALTIMORE, MD – Three prestigious global business leaders from the Mid-Atlantic will come together on October 6th to share their perspectives on globalization. Is globalization dead, due to events such as the war in Ukraine, inflation, and the COVID-19 pandemic? Or is it alive, well, and just rapidly evolving? These are the fundamental questions to be addressed at the third event in the World Trade Center Institute’s (WTCI) AGILE conversation series.
The discussion will be at The Center Club in Baltimore, MD and livestreamed on LinkedIn from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. A networking reception will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. AGILE events are free to WTCI members and people who attend virtually. The discussion will be led by BD Integrated Diagnostics Solutions President Brooke Story, Marlin Steel President and Owner Drew Greenblatt, and McKinsey & Company Partner Liz Hempel.
All three panelists live and breathe issues related to globalization every day. For Story, it is in the context of leading one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world through a period of exciting innovation and unprecedented challenges.
For Hempel, globalization is central to the work she does on product development and procurement for industrial clients. She is the lead on developing new insights on supply chain regionalization across North America, in response to macroeconomic forces reshaping global trade flows.
And for Greenblatt, whose company manufactures 100 percent US-made steel wire and sheet metal products, globalization is viewed through the lens of American manufacturing and export opportunities. Marlin Steel imports nothing and ships to more than 35 countries. Reshoring initiatives have helped Greenblatt drive Marlin Steel to record revenue growth.
