Conference to Explore Issues and Opportunities Unique to Women Leaders

November 14, 2022

BALTIMORE, MD – The 16th annual Women Spanning the Globe conference, to be held June 14th, will give women throughout the Mid-Atlantic the opportunity to discuss the progress and challenges in their professional journeys during the pandemic and beyond.

The keynote speaker will be Zainab Salbi, who has been named by Fast Company magazine as one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business. Salbi is a humanitarian, entrepreneur, author and media commentator. She will discuss strategies to shape new norms so people and the planet have healthier lives. Leadership expert Mariko Bennett will lead a discussion on how to create your vision and bring it to life.

Other topics to be covered – all under the theme of “Here. We. Grow.” – include stopping the “Shecession,” an economic downturn where job and income losses disproportionately affect women; the different paths to leadership, such as being hired into one or elected; bridging the digital divide; accepting that you are perfect just the way you are; how to achieve financial wellness; how brands can drive a more equal world; leading from within; and negotiating your salary.

The event will include 25 speakers, primarily established women executives from the Mid-Atlantic – such as Stanley Black & Decker President of Hand Tools, Accessories and Storage Tabata Gomez; Wells Fargo Senior Vice President Lynn Manthy; and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services President and CEO Krish Vignarajah.

The World Trade Center Institute will host the conference, which will be held at the American Visionary Art Museum from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. It will be the first time in two years that the conference will be in person, as well as virtual. Tickets can be purchased here. The lead sponsors are Wells Fargo, Venable LLP and Murthy Law Firm.

Interviews with speakers, either at or before the conference, can be scheduled upon request. Individual speaker headshots are available upon request.
