With its high production capacity in a high demand market, Bulgaria plays an outsized role in the EU’s defense landscape–and executives from some Bulgaria’s largest companies will be in Baltimore following AUSA 2026 to make connections in the defense sector and beyond. Company representatives, a mix of investors, contractors to European Ministries of Defense, systems integrators, and allied supply chain support, are interested in procuring access to US technology, partnering with US defense firms, and growing their sales networks.

WTCI is honored to host Alexander Poulev, Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry, who will lead a delegation of 20 Bulgarian defense industry executives to Maryland. Deputy Prime Minister Poulev’s portfolio includes Bulgaria’s industrial and investment policy, with the development of the defense industry among the government’s priorities. The delegation are looking to connect with potential U.S. partners in cybersecurity, AI, advanced technology, and dual-use software.
